NanoSustain

Welcome to the NanoSustain website. The ultimate goal of NanoSustain is to explore, examine and develop new solutions for the sustainable design, use, re-use, recycling and final treatment and/or disposal of specific nanomaterials and associated products. This will be based on a comprehensive hazard characterization and impact assessment of selected environmentally and economically relevant materials products.

Latest Project News

The NanoSustain partners attended and participated in a fruitful and successful face-to-face 6th Project meeting at the historic Hotel Monopole in Frankfurt from 8th—9th November, followed by a collaborative online meeting held in December. Both meetings enabled the consortium to update the current status of work and to focus on the discussion and evaluation of the huge amount of experimental, analytical and testing data generated during the last 30 months of the project.

The NanoSustain consortium will have its 6th (and penultimate) regular project meeting on 8-9 November 2012 in Frankfurt/Germany. This meeting will be very crucial as most analytical, experimental and test results have been generated and will be intensively discussed.

The Research Centre for Microsystems and Nanotechnology (RCMN) of the Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania, successfully organized the NanoSustain Autumn School on 'New Methods for Nanoparticle characterization' on the 17–18 September 2012. About 20 young reseachers attended this training event and experienced a lively discussion and exchange of ideas and information with key experts from the NanoSustain and NanoValid project.
